Eyeball Updates

The surgery is done and everything went well. My left eye is already sharp and clear and the right eye is rapidly catching up. It's so weird being able to see. When I go to bed I keep thinking, 'oops forgot to take out my contacts', then realize moohahahaha...I don't have to! Oddly I do the same thing in the shower when I realize I can read the shampoo bottles. And every time I wake up through the night, first thing I do is lift my head and read the clock on the other side of the room. My mom got to sit in a separate room and actually watch the surgery which she found pretty neat. She had her eyes lasered about six years ago.

The first 48 hours weren't as bad as I thought. Despite no reading, computer or tv, I didn't los my mind. I had a book on CD that wasn't too bad. Although the dialogue still caught me up. Some of the voices were bang on the characters, but it was a guy reading it and all the women's voices sounded like prim Sunday school teachers and a few of the guys sounded like Jeff Foxworthy. Still the book was entertaining even if the dialogue could have used some work and the epilogue could have used a complete overhaul.

I wasn't able to work on Brimstone since Wednesday though because my vision was a bit off because one eye healed faster than the other, so looking at the screen was a bit wonky. Today it feels fine though so I'll be back at it tomorrow to try and catch up.

I can't wear any eye make-up until Friday of next week. Oddly, I've discovered after a week of not wearing make-up that I don't need to wear as much as I have been, so that was a nice side benefit. Still, it'll be nice to get my hands on that new mascara. I'll just leave off the eyeliner and shadow.

Thankfully I can drive as of today, which works out well because my chapter meeting is today and I don't want to miss it. I still have to wear the funky sunglasses, but luckily the pair they gave me are kind of cool. I feel like a superstah!

Congrats! I'm so glad to hear it went well and you're already reaping the benefits. I hadn't even thought about reading the shampoo bottles in the shower. That must be nice!

Sounds like the eye surgery was a big success. Hope you're back to the writing this morning.

That is awesome Kelly. I'm almost convinced that I might to this myself. I'm going to check with my eye doctor to see if it's a possibility.

Woo hoo! I can't imagine waking up in the morning and being able to see without glasses or contacts. So glad everything went well!
