If I Never See Another Rent Roll...

...it will be too soon. I've spent the last 5 work days separating property rent rolls, turning them into pdf files, renaming them, uploading them to the intranet, then profiling each one of them. If there were twenty, even fifty properties, I'd be okay with this, but when there's 500, that's a whole other story. I'm thisclose to finishing July, August and September and now October's are due and I have to start allll over again. I swear, if there is more mind-numbing work out there, I can't think of what it would be. It's not that I mind doing it actually, I can think about other stuff while I go through the process, but when you're butt falls asleep because you've been sitting in the chair for too long and your back muscles start to cramp up...yeah it's time to call it a day.

Which is what I did yesterday around 3 pm. My eyes were bugging out of my head and I needed to get away from my computer for a few minutes and take a break. So I go into the kitchen to get some coffee and I'm talking to two co-workers when another one comes in. He says something to one of the guys in a joking manner, the other guy responds back jokingly, but the first guy apparently didn't take what was said as a joke and then this confrontation broke out and a pissing contest ensued. Now, I'm all for some entertainment at work, but this just bordered on the ridiculous. Two grown men behaving like morons over something that could have been resolved easily if calmer heads and temperaments had prevailed. I swear, it's like communication is a dying art.

So now I have to spend yet another day uploading and profiling while my butt goes numb and now a nice layer of tension coats my end of the office. I debated calling in sick today but couldn't even work up a headache to convince myself it was a just cause.

On the plus side, I managed to work through my brain fog and write a new scene for The Outlaw Bride which I'm quite pleased with. I'm hoping to get some writing done this weekend, although when I don't know. Our softball playoffs have been rescheduled to Saturday. We have three games but I'm only going to two because I have too much to do to give up the whole day. Plus I'm animal sitting my sister's two cats and my mother's super high energy dog (sorry Coop...you may want to take cover now...) this weekend. Sunday is our monthly chapter meeting so there's another day gone, but I'm looking forward to that.

Somewhere in there though I want to carve out a little time for more revisions...and working on those knitting projects for Christmas would be a good idea as well. Not to mention upcoming birthdays and baby showers. And the grass needs to be mowed. I really need to perfect that cloning process. Or hire me a manservant. I think the latter option sounds more intriguing.

Two men in a pissing contest? Nah. NEVER happens. ;-)

I think you should hire a manservant - one that looks like Christian Bale, of course.
