The Writing Room Revamp!

"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." ~ Albert Einstein

Finally! I've taken pictures of the before and after of the Writing Room revamp. First, let's start with the before and in progress pictures.

As you can see, it was messy, and then got messier. I don't even want to get into how much dust was kicked up during this process. Suffice to say, I should have taken out shares in Claritin. But finally, after way more work than I had originally envisioned and after weeks of promising my Success Team members that I would get it done, we have the finished product:

Ahhh...finally. Everything has a place. Granted, I still don't have my hardwood floor, two extra bookshelves or a big comfy reading chair. But once the dog condo is no longer required for the canine, those will come next. Either way, it feels good to finally have things squared away. I don't like mess. It agitates me.
Now I can sit and write and not worry about messy distractions. Unless you count the dog. And he's not so much messy as he is moronic. I'm told by the time he reaches the age of two he'll snap out of that...

Hey, nice job! Of course I am jealous. :) Even sharing the room with the pup is awesome because itis yours to share (or not). Happy Writing!

It looks great, Kelly! I find mess a distraction, too.

I really have to go at my office. It's gotten out of control again.

LOL! But cute, no...?

Really nice revamp, Kelly. Love the bulletin boards and calendars over on the walls.

I know, I'm so anal retentive about my calendars. There's a desk calendar too. And two more upstairs. A monthly one on the fridge. I probably need a 12 step program. I pulled out the Oct calendar for the fridge last night and John goes 'you've got Oct already done?' I looked at him and laughed and said, 'Babe, I've got 2011 already done.'

You have to make a mess to clean one...that's my motto! Great space! Inspires me to clean up my desk:)

Oh, Kelly, how I can relate! I just finished pulling my writing life back together by changing my office to a different room in my house and finding the space to be me....a writer. What a change! I totally relate to what you've done. Wish I'd done before shots...no, not really it was WAY too gross!

Kelly, your writing space looks so peaceful and creative. Love the soothing blue. You've inspired me to get my butt in gear and do something.

As to sharing with pets. We just got a new kitten and have confined her to my office until she grows up a little. She's a terrible distraction all cuteness and purring.

I love re-doing a room, bringing a fresh look to things. Your writing space looks so inspiring, and I'm sure your canine assistant helps with the writing tasks!

I clicked over from Melissa's, enjoyed browsing today.

Lovely re-do! I hate mess too, it makes me crazy. My office has stacks, but I tell myself they're *neat* stacks. Ha.

"Not so much messy as he is moronic."-- Hilarious! And he's adorable with that ball.

Great pics, Kelly!!! And yeah, I always love the way things get way messier before they get clean during an office clean-up!!

Love the pics of Cedar as well :)

Love the way you've improved your office. I gave mine a revamp recently and it's so inspiring to have more space. And your doggie is so cute.
