Too Many Projects, Too Little Time

The re-flapping of the eyeball went off without a hitch and I now have perfect 20/20 vision. It’s a weird thing. I just think I have my contacts in and then it hits me, nope, that’s my eyeballs, and I feel this little thrill shoot through me and I do a little happy dance.

Another good thing – I only lost one day of writing and I’ve been going flat out trying to catch up so I can get the book done. Although as you can see from my word count I’m over 95,000 words. I’m at 334 pages but I’m typing in TNR. Sigh. Will I EVER write a book that comes in under page count? I’m hoping Julianne and Pam will be able to suggest some cuts when they do a read through.

Meanwhile, I am still stoked for NaNoWriMo even though I will be juggling the writing of Salvation Falls while also doing a final edit on Brimstone to get it done for the GH. Insane, but I’m too psyched for NaNo and this story not to do it and I've already paid my GH fee so I can't not do that. I figure when I get the notes back from J and P I can switch from doing my writing on Salvation Falls to lunch hours and evenings, and do Brimstone during my morning writing stint.

I had planned on not doing an outline for Salvation Falls, but I had so many ideas and things started falling into place that I decided it would be stupid not to start writing down a rough chapter by chapter outline to keep things straight. I’m not married to the outline, but at least it should keep me from hitting a wall of – oh oh, where does the story go now?? What can I say, I’m just a plotter at heart and there’s no cure for it.

My buddy list is growing which is good to see. It’ll be fun having a good group of cohorts writing along with me into the madness. I think we have 7 of my RWAC chaptermates doing it so we can cheer/egg each other on.

Still haven’t decided on a final destination of where Salvation Falls takes place but I decided I can always figure that out in the second draft and just pick somewhere in the interim. It isn’t of huge importance to the story other than it has to be somewhere that falls within the realm of the Old West and where cattle ranching would take place. I feel a wikipedia search in my near future if time permits.

Also, I signed on with Miss Make A Movie to be one of their regular bloggers. My first post will be on November 28th. In the meantime, check out the blog and see what they’re about.

By the way - I need an easy to put together Halloween costume for work. Anyone got any ideas?

It doesn't get any easier. I'm doing NaNo too, what's your ID? Mines Amy Ruttan. Not very original I know. LOL!

Good to hear about your eyes settling into 20/20 vision! And I'm positive that all of your 'Brimstone'/NaNo/GH mayhem will sort itself out. Is it your fault you're so brilliant? Hey, congrats on the regular feature at 'Miss Make a Movie'!

Busy, busy, busy.

But you know what they say? If you want something done, give it to a busy person.

How about a fireman for work? Put on the red fire hat and carry an ax. How easy is that?

I'm not sure my co-workers would like to see me wielding an axe...
