Writing The End

I am done. Done, done, done! Saturday morning I wrote the last scene for Brimstone. I am so thrilled! I love this story and these characters and I'm so glad their story is finally told. Now I just have to sell it so it can be told to the masses.

Not that the work is all done. The story is written but I still need to go back and do a final read through, incorporate a few changes and try to cut 50 pages. Which is much better than my usual 100 pages. So this week I will be working away on that during the morning, lunch hours and evenings. I want to finish as much as I can this week, because next week I am taking an on-line course, "Storyboarding for the Story Challenged," given by Shelley Bradley and put on by the Red River Romance Writers. The course was recommended by one of my chapter-mates, Cathryn Fox. It begins August 6th, so there's still time to sign up if anyone wants to check it out.

I think I'll use the course to help me tweak the outline for Book 2: Saving Grace. I'm putting the contemporary on hold for now and powering ahead with my series. That way, when I sell it in a three book deal (like my positive thinking??) I will be one step ahead with the second book mostly completed.

Meanwhile, lest you think I did not properly celebrate finishing Brimstone, have no fear. Christian Bale had a new movie, Rescue Dawn, open on Friday, so Saturday afternoon I took myself down to the matinee, plunked my butt in a seat and enjoyed the two hour extravaganza. Amazing movie by the way. Not an action movie but more about perseverence and the human spirit and also friendship. I enjoyed it very much. I'm hoping to go again tonight. And maybe the night after. And...well...maybe the night after that too. What?! It's not like too much of Christian Bale is a bad thing, right??

WooHoo!!! Congrats on getting B&D finished.

And I agree, there's no such thing as too much Christian Bale.

Yay on finishing Desire and Brimstone (love that title!). And 50 pages doesn't seem too bad, although I'm sure it will be a bit painful.

LOL Okay, now I want to go see Rescue Dawn. Maybe on vacation.

Congrats on finishing!!!! And I think hanging with Christian Bale is an awesome way to celebrate. I just finally saw Batman and I was salivating the whole time.

Good for you! I type "The End" even though it isn't necessary just for the rush. Totally awesome (can't you tell I'm from California? I put the words "totally" and "awesome" together, sigh).

I heard Steve Zahn was very good in the movie as well.
