Met with my CP last night and we determined part of my problem was that Edward, my villain, didn't have a solid GMC. The guy was all over the place and I couldn't get a good handle on his motivations. He needed to be reined in. I needed to go back and figure out his complete backstory and GMC.
So I worked on that this morning and I think I have things figured out. I also came up with another element to the story that adds another layer. And last night I figured out a clearer progression on how things have to unfold in the last 100 pages. None of this back and forth from London to Brimstone. Just get these kids to Brimstone and stay there. Good. That alone should cut about thirty pages. I still need to find a picture of Edward, though. Just to solidify him in my head.
I finished Jill Shalvis's Shadow Hawk yesterday too. Awesome book. She does great heroes and in that book you got two for the price of one with Hawk and Logan. Definitely worth picking up before they are all gone! I picked up Blue Flame next, although I realized it was the second book in the Flame series but they each seem to stand alone so I'll go back and find the other one when I'm done this one. Still want to get Smart & Sexy too.
I reorganized my TBR pile yesterday too. It's a little horrifying, but I broke it down into categories and author to give me a better idea of what I was dealing with. I'm dealing with a lot. I have enough reading material to open my own library. Good grief. But I have a week's vacation come up in July and my plan is to read and write and read and write. And then probably read and write some more. I can't wait.

That is funny you have so many in your TBR pile! I just have a stack currently, and I'm slowly working my way to the bottom. Only 6 more to go before I'll have to restock!
Glad you figured out what you need to. Sometimes it helps to brainstorm with someone.
I just bought Shadow Hawk too. I'm loving it! It's my first book by Jill Shalvis, but it won't be my last. I love her writing style.
Alright, off to do housework and some writing. Yay!! My hubby gets home from his trip today. Hope he brings the sun!
So glad you enjoyed Shadow Hawk. And as for Blue Flame, Seeing Red, and White Heat, I promise you can read them in any order. They're not connected by plot.
Good news about your villain. Your upcoming vacation sounds ideal.
I'm trying to decide what to do with my vacation time - take an entire week off or just spread it out a few days here and there.
But a week of solid reading and writing sounds divine!
How funny - I reorganized my TBR this week, too! I put them by author. I have a TON of Catherine Mann and Karen Templeton books I haven't read!
