Injuries, Updates & Other Stuff

I went to my chiropractor yesterday for my bi-monthly neck cracking and had him look at my shoulder which I managed to wrench when starting the mower. He said I had definitely injured it, did a few things that hurt like hell, then told me to keep some heat on it or it could end up becoming a problem. Apparently the muscle felt thick and irritated. Something like that. I was still in too much pain to process something as simple as the English language. Anyway, I took his advice and kept heat on it for the rest of the day and magically woke up this morning feeling much better. The shoulder is still a bit stiff, but the pain is mostly gone.

As for writing, the revisions are moving along. I finished Chapter 7 (finally!) and think I will try and get at least a little work done on it this weekend between ball games which we have both Saturday & Sunday to make up for the games that got rained out in June.

Pirates of the Caribbean (2) opens this weekend. Maxx and I are going to see it on Wednesday to avoid the crowds of kids destined to be crawling all over the theatre on opening weekend. Can't wait. And I keep hearing great things about Superman Returns, so I may have to check that one out too. Meanwhile, one of my favorite movies came in at the library so tonight I will be perched in front of my tv drooling over Gerard Butler while I watch Dear Frankie.

Currently reading Crazy For You by Jennifer Crusie and really enjoying it. I finished Manhunting the other day. It was okay, but nothing spectacular. The plot was a bit thin but I liked the characters. Up next is Breathing Room by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Has anyone read that?

Still need to find some time to finish the revamp of my website and flip it over to the web host to make it live. Sigh...too much to do...so little time.

Meanwhile, I've decided this should be a summer of fun and adventure and that I really need to have a summer fling. So the quest for one is on. Just where does one find fling worthy material?? There really should be a store...or a mail order catalogue (male order?), or something...

Well, I just tried ebay but all they had for "summer fling" was a movie, dolls and tons of sandals. Sorry.

And I left London standing (you want proof? I've posted travel logs in my journal)...but we may be returning sooner than originally thought, so no promises for next time. ;)

I didn't care that much for Manhunting either.

Summer fling huh? Have you tried googling it?

Riiiight...been there...horrifying results. I think I'll concentrate more on the face to face meets.

I've read Breathing Room, and athough I like all SEP books, this was not one of my favourites.

Manhunting was a reisuued category romance, and some of those aren't quite up to par with Crusie's newer ones.

Glad you arm is getting better, and that you can still work. That summer fling male order thing would make a great story! Maybe you can live it out vicariously that way...

Or better yet - research the matter thoroughly.

Hmmm, it's been so long since I've had a fling I wouldn't know where to start. But I'm pretty certain bars are always the best place *g*.

Glad your shoulder is feeling better :-)

We ALMOST went to the midnight Pirates screening last night, but decided not to. Maybe we'll see it on the weekend. Should be good!!

I hear the Palace is still a pickup joint...especially if you want someone half your age, for your fling.

I had a shoulder problem that went on for over a year. I had PT plus an injection and meds. The doctor sent me for an MRI and I had tendonitis. The thing is you need to do some band exercises and gentle stretches to keep it mobile. You can end up with a frozen shoulder. I know that was just what you wanted to hear....

Oddly enough putting heat on it seemed to work. I'm pretty much all better now.
