Countdown to 5 PM

This has been one staggeringly boring week at work. Usually the third week of the month is a bit slow for me anyway as it falls just after one set of reports are done and right before the next batch start up again. But this week was really bad. I was digging to find stuff to do because my bosses were busy and tied up with things of their own. The stuff I had planned to work on this week wasn't ready for me yet so that fell through. So I spent most of my week doing mundane little tasks that were so brain-numbingly dull I was nearly forced to stick a pen in my eye just to keep myself awake. Hence my scowling avatar standing near her pod.

But finally Friday is here. I have no major plans for the weekend and--surprise, surprise--I hear we're in for some shower activity. No biggy. I have 3 Jennifer Crusie books from the library I need to get through so I think I might spend a good portion of my time hunkered down on the couch with a cup of tea reading to my heart's content.

Anyone else have any exciting plans for the weekend?

Unlike you, my week's been super busy. So, looks like I'll be doing some extra work at home this weekend. What makes that a bigger bummer is that the weather here is supposed to be pretty good (Toronto). However, the hunkering down with tea and book sounds too good to resist, so I'll be sure to get a little of that in.
Enjoy the weekend!

Hmmm, this weekend we are in for a new sink, new counter, new cupboards. Painting the kitchen ceiling and some of the kitchen walls. Our house right now is a complete construction zone!! A book sounds like a great thing. Picked up "The Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella the other day and started that last night. What a fun book. I can hardly wait to get into the thick of it!!!

The Undomestic Goddess...hmm... sounds like a title I'm familiar with.

Kelly, on another note I finally finished The Fiery Cross by D. Gabaldon. I've borrowed Breath of Snow and Ashes but I think I need some fun books to read first before I dive into another one of her powerful books.

I guess no make up game tomorrow then huh. Bummer.
I see some groceries and (hopefully) a new shirt or pants or skirt in my future... if its on sale. And a Sunday eve latte of course.

And don't forget, Saturday at my place. WE really need to break into the red wine I opened. At least one glass. Well you can have one. I'll finish off the rest.

Saturday I'll be at a wedding shower for a co-worker - promises to be an afternoon of rambuctious hilarity. Sunday we have a family dinner which will be a joy. It's always a joy when it's at another person's house. When it's at our place, there's loads of frantic tidying first.

Exciting? Nothing more exciting than sitting around and watching the grass wither from lack of rain. We're a real exciting bunch here. *snore*

So far, I've done nothing much this weekend. I'm about to go out to eat catfish for lunch. I'll eventually get back here. I'll probably write some and do a little cleaning. I have debated about movies as well. You can see I'm very organized.

I'm in Vegas! Doesn't that sound fun? It's not. Would rather be home.

The last couple of months I worked my job was like that. I was so glad to get laid off. I was miserable although I did get quite a bit of writing done.
