The Road to Reno

Well it's about 2 1/2 months until Reno and I'm still trying to get the money together for the big trip across country. I've ordered my business cards, registered my domain name, paid for the plane ticket and conference registration. I still have to come up with the cash for the hotel, food and miscellaenous.

Everything was going relatively fine until the pooch decided to get sick and the vet bills nearly had me raffling my kidney off on e-bay. I came thisclose to actually cancelling the trip to Reno, but that would have meant giving up a chance at editor/agent meetings that might lead to something, making contacts that could prove useful, educational sessions where I would learn something to improve my writing/industry knowledge. So finally I broke down and mired myself further in debt, alternately muttering 'you gotta spend money to make money' and praying nothing else went wrong that would cost me something.

So it's off to Reno I go. Now if I can just finish my manuscript for The Outlaw Bride by end of this month and get it off to HQN before they forget they requested to have a look at it, and then pound out the rough draft of the Regency historical I plan on shopping around down there I'll be all set.

I am so glad that you didn't cancel your trip to Reno!

Why aren't we better at keeping in touch???

Because you're lost in the Velvet Underground and I'm lost in a world of make believe. One day soon we'll have to look up and find a place in between.
