Viva La France!

I am going to Paris, France.

I'm still trying to get the idea of that to settle in my mind. My boyfriend surprised me last week with the news he was taking me. He said he recognized traveling was important to me and he wanted to be able to give that to me. I think the sentiment behind the trip bowled me over even more than the trip itself. Which is saying quite a lot given how much I love to travel and have desperately wanted to see Europe for longer than I can remember. I've spent the past twenty plus years doing everything for myself. To have someone come in and do something so nice and thoughtful for me still blows my mind.

We are going to the travel agent this weekend to nail down the details but it looks like August/September that we'll be going. So this year, I will get two stamps in my passport - San Francisco and Paris. San Fran I get to spend with my writing buddies. Paris with the world's greatest boyfriend who I love dearly. So far, 2008 is shaping up to be a pretty incredible year.

Now, if I can manage to snag a finalist spot in the Golden Heart, that would be an amazing hat trick.

In other news - the documentary, Who's Afraid of Happy Endings, now has an international distributor, which means we will be appearing on television screens south of the border in the near future. I'll keep you posted once I hear dates and networks, etc.

Pay no attention to that extra suitcase that may show up unexpectedly. And if it moves or makes any small noises... that's just your imagination.
