Greetings from Revision Hell

I've been missing in action a lot of late. Partly due to the fact that work has been crazy and the other part due to the fact that I am currently wading my way through Revision Hell. I am using the storyboard and sheet sheets from the on line course I took and finding this very helpful, but at the same time, I'm realizing a fair bit needs to be changed in order to make this book work within the series of 4 books it's a part of. But trying to wrangle the necessary scenes into place, make sure the character arcs work and the GMCs make sense is making me think it would be easier to negotiate a peace treaty between two warring factions.

I've reached a point today where I've realized I need to stop storyboarding and do a summary of my book with the new changes and see if it works as far as story & character arc. And page count. That's the scary part. For every scene I've cut or blended or changed I've probably added another. So I'm no further ahead. I'm beginning to feel that the story is getting away from me and what I had originally is getting buried in too much plot, not enough character.

I had planned on having this whole thing ready by August 19th for my CP and other friend who offered to read through. I've missed that deadline and the new one of mid-September is looking extremely iffy at this point. This is the part of writing that I hate. The part where you feel like you hit the wall, suck horribly and should have never entertained the idea of writing a book at all because you obviously don't have a clue what you're doing.

Granted, I know this feeling will pass and eventually I'll figure it all out and get the job done. But right now, basket weaving is looking very good...
