Ever have one of those mornings when your alarm goes off and you lift your head off the pillow and all you can hear is the wind blowing, battering the side of the house. You want desperately to just crawl back under the covers. The bed is so warm and comfy and despite getting a solid seven hours of sleep, you're exhausted.
I had one of those mornings. I did crawl out of bed and made my bleary-eyed way down to fix myself coffee and a bowl of cereal. But my brain felt sluggish and writing was a struggle. It didn't help that I had reached the scene I had determined needed to be changed drastically but wasn't sure how to do it. Finally about ten minutes ago the caffeine took effect and my brain woke up enough to figure it out. I wrote the opening bit, jotted down some notes for tomorrow and made a little progress, so the morning wasn't a total waste.
But the wind is still blowing. And I can feel rain in the air.
And I really, really, really want to crawl back under the covers of my comfy bed and get some more shut-eye.
