Forsooth, I Hath Tagged Myself

I know, I know, after a week off I really should have lots of tantalizing topics to write about, but it just ain't so. And the idea of slogging back to work when it feels like my vacation is just getting started has my brain misfiring on all cylinders so I'm going to steal a meme and use that for today's post. Isn't theft the highest form of flattery anyway? No wait...that's not it...

Well anyway, here it be:

1. When did you first start blogging and why?
Started in May 2005. Why? Hmm...well probably because I could just talk about myself ad nauseum and this seemed a good way to do it. Because really, in the end, it's just allll about me.

2. What don't you talk about?
Uh...the dust balls gathering in the corners of my kitchen. Oh no wait...I think they may have had their own post at some point. Guess there isn't much I won't talk about. Especially if it's a slow news day.

3. Are you and your blogging persona the same person?
Pretty much. Although she doesn't swear near as much as I do. She's much more polite and uses those symbols. I've tried to do that in my day to day life but no one seems to understand me.

4. How do you use blogging to build friendships?
I think blogging is a great way to check in with what other people with similar interests are doing. It's like a regular news roll of parts of their life to keep you in touch. You can pop in and see what's up, leave a message, etc. It's way cheaper than long distance and you get to meet people that maybe you otherwise wouldn't have.

5. How would you describe your writing style?
Probably along the lines of dry / ironic humour with a little dark or angst thrown in there on any given day. But even on the ugly darker days, I still manage to find some humour in things. It's what keeps me tethered to my sanity, thin tether though it may be...

And a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Christine Diehm, me ole critique partner, who won the Golden Heart Short Historical with Scandal's Daughter. It's a great book, soon to be coming to a bookshelf near you. Congrats Christine!!

I love reading this particular meme. It's interesting how so many of us have the same reasons behind our blogging. And its very intriguing where we differ.

Happy to hear you enjoyed your vacations! What's with vacations that we always need vacations to recover from our vacations?

I have to go back to work tomorrow and I am NOT looking forward to it. Oh well - at least it won't be a Monday. That's ONE thing to be thankful for!

You made me realize that a big difference between me and my blog persona is the swearing too...;-)
