The Proust Questionnaire

Over on the Avon blog the editors were making use of the Proust Questionnaire and since I’m hard up for a topic today, I thought I’d swipe theirs and try it myself. I didn’t answer the whole thing, mostly picked the questions I liked best.

What is your most marked characteristic? Most likely a toss up between my sense of humor and my ability to make a list for pretty much anything.

The quality you most like in a man? Well…a pulse is nice, but once we have that the qualities I like are intelligence, humor and reliability. And if that comes packaged in hard abs, strong hands and a nice set of shoulders you won’t hear me complaining.

The quality you most like in a woman? Backbone. I can’t stand it when a woman gets herself confused with a doormat.

What do you most value in your friends? I think the fact that they put up with me speaks volumes.

What is your principle defect? Oh lord…you want me to pick just one? I can be rather stubborn at times.

What is your favorite occupation? Writing.

What is your dream of happiness? Writing full time while living in a quaint cottage on the coast of England with hot lawyer guy.

What to your mind would be the greatest misfortune? To never have tried.

What would you like to be? Just who I am. Perhaps with the words ‘published author’ coming after my name.

Who are your favorite poets? W. H. Auden, Leonard Cohen and Robert Frost.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction? Mr. Darcy and Jamie Cameron from Outlander.

Who is your favorite heroine of fiction? Elinor Dashwood.

What is it you most dislike? Stupidity fed by ignorance.

What natural gift would you most like to possess? To be able to sing without people running from the room screaming in horror.

How would you like to die? In a blaze of glory.

What is your present state of mind? Restless.

What is your motto? The only true failure is never having tried at all.

Some say the world will end in fire, some say ice ... yeah, Frost does it for me too.

I like the motto, too! And heroines with backbones! :)
