I sat in my pod and stared at the blinking cursor, bored out of my mind from uploading insurance certificates when suddenly a strange light caught my attention. Tentatively I stood up and peered through the narrow strip of glass at the top of my cubicle wall. I blinked. What was that?
I sidled out of my pod, carefully, quietly, not wanting to disturb the vision, still unsure I saw it at all. As I crept closer to the window I had to hold my hand over my eyes, blocking out the brilliance. What was it? The brightness seared my retinas and I stumbled against the leather chair, butted into the desk and shrunk back in horror as the light grabbed my foot then crawled up over my legs, my stomach, my arms and face.
What is it?
Warmth suffused my skin, sinking into it deep until it touched the bone. I stopped holding my body rigid. Was it...? Could it be...? It had been so long... My eyes widened in wonder. I edged closer to the window and bathed in the golden glow.
Ahhhh yes...the sun had returned...

Bask in it while ya can, Kelly, it's supposed to rain this afternoon.
Four days.... ;)
I can tell you ain't in the South. LOL
Erin, must you rain on my parade?
Moi? I'm not the one raining on your parade, that's Mother Nature!
Even if I was, that is an evil sort of thing to do, right? ;)
Did I mention that I'm on vacation in 4 days? Hee hee hee
Sure, rub it in. Try to leave London intact for my own visit would you. Eventually I'll get there.
LOL!!! Hilarious, Kelly. :-)
If I never read anything else from you, I'd know that you were a writer just from this post. :-)
Glad to hear it finally showed its face!!! It's raining here now. LOL.
Hope the sun sticks around Halifax for a while :-)
We've been getting early morning drizzle but it always burns off. Should I mention I took the convertible today?
Now, Kelly, why would you even have to worry about the possibility that I wouldn't leave London intact?
0:-)
See? I'm innocent!
