The Waiting

I am not by nature a patient person. I’m not one to just sit back when something needs to be done, or wait until the last minute to do it. I’m action girl. Action makes sense to me. I’m an Aries moon, what can I say? I’m driven to act, not to wait and see what happens. Do what you need to, get job done. That's how my brain works and for the most part, that scenario has worked wonders for me.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t apply to all areas, and that’s the kicker. There are some areas, especially where other people are involved, that you can’t just tackle the issue and get things done. Areas where other people may not even be aware that something needs to be tackled in the first place. Times when people are so blindly obtuse they don’t realize that the waiting is damn near killing you. That you want to jump up and down and scream at the top of your lungs to get this thing moving while they sit in their comfy little lives utterly oblivious. And you end up looking like a fool with ants in your pants.

Sigh…yes, I hate waiting. And yet there is nothing to do but wait.

It absolutely galls me that I can’t control the universe.

Well, you can't control the universe, YET, at least... ;)

Yet another thing for you to be patient about, I suppose.

Um, so, are we talking about waiting on editors? Or waiting on work-related stuff? :)

I think with publishing, you get past the ants-in-your-pants stage and reach the Zen-like calm stage where it's been so long you just don't worry about it anymore. Eventually, that is.

Well there are some things which are totally out of your hands and your control. Giving up that power is hard to swallow for those of us always in control, always in charge. Guess the best thing to do is find something to occupy yourself with that you can control.

I'm curious about what exactly you're waiting FOR. :-)

I've been told patience is a virtue.
I say PFFFT to that!

I hear you on the whole "hating the waiting" thing. We're meeting with our potential builder tomorrow, to find out exactly HOW long we may have to wait for our house :-/ Is there room for me on that bench?
