This Day In History

I got this idea from Rene's blog. If you go onto Wikipedia you can check and see what events in history on your birthday. So here you have it. Three events, two birthdays and one death that all occured on January 18th.

Events:
1486: King Henry VII of England marries Elizabeth, daughter of Edward IV.

1788: The First 736 convicts banished from England to Australia landed in Botany Bay creating the first Australian Penal Colony.

1967: And on the very day of my birth: Albert DeSalvo, the “Boston Strangler”, is convicted of numerous crimes and is sentenced to life in prison.

Births:
1882: A.A. Milne, English author (Winnie the Pooh)
1913: Danny Kaye, American Actor (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty)

Death:
1936: Rudyard Kipling, British writer, Nobel Prize laureate (The Jungle Book)

I've heard that same thought repeated by a few people. I cannot wait to read it. But I just had the book I had on hold at the library come in so I have to read that first. Waahhh! Right now I'm reading The Secret Pearl by Mary Balogh and it is AMAZING. It's a reprint which I didn't know but the premise is so different than anything else that's out there. A bit daring and completely absorbing. I'd highly recommend.
