I grew up running track. I was a sprinter. Loved it. Still do. Even now, I'd probably race someone down the sidewalk if they looked at me askance and threw down the challenge. But I'm not so thrilled with the idea of sprinting to the finish line when it comes to my writing. I have a few days left and I'm realizing now that there are some things I want to change, that I think need to be changed, but will simply have to be left as is. With the new deadline, there just isn't enough time left to do the edits, fix some wording, change a few scenes and write the synopsis. I could probably use three days for the synopsis alone and I haven't even started it.
So it will go as is, with the line edits and typos fixed and a few lines inserted where absolutely necessary. The others changes I was debating will have to remain in my head. Maybe I can make them for the HQN version if I feel they're warranted but for now the debate has ended whether I want it to or not. Time has all but run out.
I'll finish my line edits tonight and then Wednesday and Thursday morning will be spent on the synopsis. Thursday night will be used to ready my courier package. Then off it goes...

Sounds like we're on the save wavelength! There's stuff I really wanted to include, but can't now. As it was, it took me 2.5 hours to get 500 words of a new scene last night (the last one I had to write).
Good luck with the final push!!!!!! I think we need t-shirts "I survived the new GH Deadline, 2005"
You can do it, Kelly! You're almost there!!!
Yay Kelly!
I think we all feel that way. After I send out a manuscript I try to put it out of my mind but I can't help thinking maybe I should have done this, or maybe I should change that.
Go, Kelly, go! :)
