I'm Leaving On A Jet Plane...

Well not yet, but soon. I actually sing that song every time before I get on a plane. Like somehow by singing that it'll keep the hurtling steel death trap in the air and I won't die in a fiery ball of flames.

I've spent the past three days playing ball, cleaning house, running errands and finalizing my RWA Idol submission (how many times can one person revise 2 freakin' pages??!!). I still have to do a little housework, pack and write my pitches. I've been putting that off because I hate doing it and now I'm in crunch mode. If worse comes to worse, I can maybe pull something together during my 8 hour layover in Boston.

I took the dog up to the vet to check her incision and make sure it's healing properly. I was a little concerned because Saturday my canine somehow managed to manouver around the moon unit collar and lick the incision, but luckily no damage done and the vet said she's healing great. Whew, one less thing to worry about.

Saturday I had to dip into my 'food' money for Reno because Julianne finagled us an invite to the cocktail reception her agent is throwing so I needed something to wear. Luckily I managed to find a really nice outfit at Winners for under $50. I've heard the food in Reno is fairly cheap to lure tourists into town to gamble. I'm hoping that holds true or I'll be feasting on the stash of energy bars I'm throwing on my bag and not a whole lot else. I'm trying not to stress about the money, or lack thereof as the case may be. I have enough to cover the hotel and food and a few extras (extras mostly meaning books), but that's it. Then of course when I come home there's the big deal of how the hell I'm going to pay it all off, but hey, that's a whole week away, maybe I'll just worry about it then. Sigh...it's times like these I think maybe I should have married for that second income...

But screw it, I'm single, I'm poor and I'm off to have a blast in Reno! Woo hoo!!

well, a lot of meal are included in the conference fee. Even Saturday night this year. So that is good. And the continental breakfasts too. So you won't starve. And a new dress is AT LEAST as important as eating *g

And there are enough men floating around that town that you can just smile purty, make inane conversation through dinner, excuse yourself to go powder your nose and slip out the back door.

and yes, it is cheap to eat there. They want the tourists to spend all their money gambling where the real money is. They don't want them wasting their vacation money on incidentals like food.

I think I'd have to pack an extra bag just to bring all my books home!

I'll see you there! We're going to have a blast. :)

Looking forward to seeing you there :-) And you'll be so busy, you won't have time to eat much *g*. The worst part will be making it through the Literacy Signing without breaking the bank. That's always hard for me.

Hope you have a great time, get to eat (cause I know you enjoy that past time *G*), learn a lot and do all kinds of new and exciting things to move your career forward!

Also, glad to hear Cooper's doing well.

Hopefully, the US will survive your visit as well as it did mine. ;)
