More Musings From the Pod

I really do need to look up what actually constitutes justifiable homicide because I'm quite certain I am well within the parameters when it comes to my podmates. Now, normally, I'm pretty even keeled. It takes a lot to get under my skin because, well to be honest, I just don't care enough to work up the energy to be irritated.

But yesterday? Well yesterday was one of those days when I was cranky to start with because I've decided poverty sucks and I don't much like the lifestyle. Then to top it off, I have one podmate that had to tell the story of closing on an income property he bought to everyone and anyone that dropped by his pod until I could nearly repeat the story of his deal on replacement windows verbatim. Oh yeah, scintillating stuff. Then my other podmate insisted on answer the phone using what I can only describe as a baby voice with a heavy Chinese accent. Don't ask. I can't tell you why she does this, but she does and on a regular basis and it's beginning to drive me nuts. Granted that's a short trip, but that's beside the point.

All day, this cycle repeated itself. Over and over and over ad nauseum. Management put in a white noise filter that is supposed to cut down on the amount of noise we hear from other pods, but I think the only way it is truly going to work is if I break the system in half and shove it down their throats so they can't speak. I'm willing to do this, if only they would show me where the unit is stored.

Oh my. Takes me back to my own pod days. The person in the pod next to me used to listen to Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You over and over and over....

Hope things turn around for you soon!

I'm pretty lucky with my podmates. We all get along quite well. The annoying people are on the other end of the building. ;-)
